Fasting of Nirjala Ekadashi: -

By fasting on Ekadashi, one gets the blessings of Lord Vishnu and also gets freedom from mistakes made knowingly or unknowingly.

This year Nirjala Ekadashi fast will be observed on 31st May. It is believed that keeping Nirjala fast on the Ekadashi date of Shukla Paksha of Jyeshtha month gives fruits and virtue equal to all Ekadashi fasts of the whole year. Keeping waterless fast in Jyeshtha month is no less than austerity. This time, due to Ekadashi being on Wednesday, an auspicious yoga is being created for worshiping Ganesha and Mercury along with Vishnu. By fasting on Ekadashi, one gets the blessings of Lord Vishnu and also gets freedom from mistakes made knowingly or unknowingly.

On Nirjala Ekadashi, wake up early in the morning and take a bath and wear clean clothes. Offer water to the Sun God from a copper vessel and then prepare for the worship.

1-First worship Lord Ganesha and then anoint all the idols of God.

2-After this, offer fruits-flowers, Ganges water, incense lamps, prasad, etc. to God.

3-Offer 21 lumps of Durva to Ganesh ji and chant the Shri Ganesha Namah mantra.

4- After worship in the morning, remember God throughout the day and do bhajan-kirtan.

5- Even at night, light a lamp in front of Lord Vishnu and perform aarti.

6-Wake up early in the morning the next day and worship God and donate.

7- If you are not able to keep Nirjala fast then drink milk or water. You can also eat fruit.

8- Wear clothes of these colors according to the planets for seven days of the week, all work will be done

Things to keep in mind during Nirjala Ekadashi:-

Worship Goddess Lakshmi along with Lord Vishnu.

Worship Riddhi-Siddhi along with Lord Ganesha. This increases happiness and prosperity in the house.

On this day, by donating an urn filled with water by the married women, the crisis that comes with married life is averted.

Mixing sesame, flowers, and Ganges water in raw milk and offering it on Peepal tree ends Pitrudosh.

The couple who performs Havan chanting the mantras of Lord Vishnu on Nirjala Ekadashi attains all materialistic pleasures in life.
