Sadhana of Shri Haridra Ganapati on Diwali
According to “Mudgal Purana”, an ancient text on Lord Ganesha, there are thirty-two forms of Ganesha. Haridra Ganesha is one of them. The word Haridra means “turmeric”. Haridra Ganapati is made from “turmeric roots” and is considered very lucky and auspicious.
He is said to have three eyes and sits on a golden throne. Their color is yellow like turmeric and they also wear yellow clothes. Yellow is the color of stagnation and this color is also considered to be a beauty enhancer and a destroyer of obstacles. On the invocation of Tripura Sundari Sridevi, Haridra Ganapati had destroyed the evil of the demon. He has four arms, in one of which there is a noose, in the second there is a curb, in the third there is a modak (sweet) and in the fourth, there is a tooth (his own broken tooth). He brings his devotees near him with a noose and leads them in the right direction by a curb. With the use of Haridra Ganesh, the heart of the enemy gets softened and becomes subjugated and Shri Baglamukhi provides strength in Sadhana.
