Special things about Lakshmi-Ganesh Puja on Diwali
1- Lakshmi Puja should always be done during the Pradosh period on Diwali. Pradosh Kaal is the time when sunset occurs, the Muhurta after this is called the Muhurta of Pradosh Kaal.
2- On Diwali, Goddess Lakshmi should not be worshiped alone but should be done with Lord Ganesha. By worshiping Goddess Lakshmi alone, one does not get the full results of the worship. According to religious beliefs, Lord Ganesha is the adopted son of Goddess Lakshmi. Lord Ganesha has received a boon from Mother Lakshmi that wherever Lord Ganesha is worshipped, Mother Lakshmi will reside there permanently.
3- On Diwali, along with worshiping Goddess Lakshmi and Lord Ganesha, definitely worship Kuber, the god of wealth. Lord Kuber is the storehouse of wealth i.e. treasurer.
4- Every year the idols of Lakshmi and Ganesh used in Diwali worship should be new.
5- Making a Swastika with Roli on both sides of the puja room and the main door is also considered auspicious.

During the puja on Diwali night, offer your favorite food to Goddess Lakshmi, Lord Ganesha, and Kuber Ji to please them.
Offer kheer or white sweets made from milk to Goddess Lakshmi.
Offer Durva to Lord Ganesha and offer him Modak or Laddus.
Offer whole coriander to Lord Kuber.
It is believed that by doing this on Diwali, Lakshmi-Ganesh, and Kuber will be pleased and will bless you with happiness and prosperity.
