According to the Hindu calendar, Chaturmas Ekadashi is on 10th July. Which will end on 4 November 2022. Worshiping fast in the month of Chaturmas gives special benefits. Special benefits are obtained by worshiping many deities including Lord Shiva and Mother Durga in Chaturmas.
They stay in this yoga for the next 4 months. Due to this, no auspicious work is done during this period. There is such a belief in Sanatan Dharma that if any auspicious work is done in the sleeping state of God, then its result is not auspicious.
Mythology related to Chaturmas
According to the scriptures, King Bali took control of the three worlds. When Indradev and all the other gods, frightened, sought help from Lord Vishnu, Shri Hari took the Vamana avatar and reached King Bali to ask for donations. Lord Vamana asked for three steps of land in charity. God measured the earth and the sky in two steps and when asked where to keep the third step, Bali said to put it on his head.
In this way, by liberating the three worlds from the sacrifice, Shri Narayan removed the fear of Devraj Indra. But seeing the charity and devotion of King Bali, Lord Vishnu asked Bali to ask for a boon. Bali told God that you should go to Hades with me and always reside there. Lord Vishnu fulfilled the wish of his devotee Bali and went to Hades. This worried all the deities and Goddess Lakshmi.
Goddess Lakshmi thought of a trick to free Lord Vishnu from Hades and reached King Bali as a poor woman. Considering King Bali as his brother, he tied a rakhi and in return demanded a promise to free Lord Vishnu from the underworld. Lord Vishnu did not want to disappoint his devotee, so he gave a boon to Bali that he would reside in Hades from Ashadha Shukla Ekadashi to Kartik Shukla Ekadashi, so Lord Vishnu stays in Yoga Nidra during these four months.
Make you sleep with worship mantra
On Devshayani Ekadashi, due to the beginning of the sleeping time of Shri Hari, he is worshiped with special rituals. According to the Padma Purana, worshiping Lord Vishnu with lotus flowers on the day of Devshayani Ekadashi leads to the worship of the deities of the three worlds. After fasting on this day, the idol of Lord Vishnu should be bathed with Panchamrita and decorated with yellow clothes and yellow dupatta and should perform the aarti of Shri Hari. After offering betel nut and betel nut to the Lord, praise him with this mantra.
'Supte Tvayi Jagannath Jagat Suptam Bhavedidam.
Vibuddhe tvayi budhyet jagat sarvam characharam.'
'O Jagannath ji! When you fall asleep, the whole world goes dormant, and when you wake up, the whole world and pastures are also awakened. After praying the Lord should be made to sleep on a bed of white clothes.

Chaturmas is starting from Sunday, July 10. This day is also Ekadashi Tithi. This Ekadashi is known as Devshayani Ekadashi. Because Lord Vishnu, the creator of the universe, goes into yoga nidra on this day. They stay in this yoga for the next 4 months. Due to this, no auspicious work is done during this period. The Ekadashi date of Shukla Paksha of Ashadh month will start from 4:39 pm on Saturday, July 9.
Devshayani Ekadashi will remain till 2:13 pm on 10th July.
The fast of Devshayani Ekadashi will be observed on Sunday, July 10.
On the day of Devshayani Ekadashi, the beginning of Chaturmas is considered as no auspicious work is done in it.

A married person should not cohabit with his wife during Chaturmas.
One who completes the fast of Chaturmas should sleep on the ground.
It is said to be obligatory to observe celibacy fast in Chaturmas.
The people observing fast in Chaturmas should not cut their hair, beard and nails.
For devotion to God in Chaturmas, one should remain pure in body, mind and pray to God with reverence.
Saint Mahatma people also stop at the same place in Chaturmas and worship God. Therefore, those observing fast during Chaturmas should avoid traveling.
Meat, alcohol, onion, garlic etc. should not be eaten in Chaturmas.
For four months even one meal is taken.
During this, they sleep on the floor or the ground.
During this rajasic and tamasic foods are renounced.
Follows Brahmacharya for four months.
Take a good bath everyday.
They get up in the early morning and go to sleep early in the night.
Donate as much as you can.
