According to a belief of Hindu religion, offering three fused leaves of Belpatra on the Shivling brings peace to Lord Shiva and Lord Shiva is pleased. The month of Sawan is about to start soon. Sawan is going to start from 14th July. This month is dear to Lord Bholenath. Lord Bholenath is worshiped in the month of Shravan. To please Lord Bholenath, his favorite Vastu is offered. That is why in worship we also offer Bel leaves to Lord Bholenath. Belpatra leaves are very dear to Lord Shiva, so if Belpatra is not offered in the worship of Lord Shiva, then it is considered incomplete. The three leaves of Belpatra which are intertwined are considered sacred. The three leaves are intertwined so these three leaves are considered as Tridev and some believe that the three leaves represent the trident of Mahadev. The legend of Bel Patra
According to a legend from mythological times, there was a time when Goddess Parvati had thrown away the sweat from her forehead. So some of its drops fell on the Mandar mountain. The Bel tree originated from Parvati's sweat. It is believed that Girija resides in the roots of the bael tree, Maheshwari in the stem, Dakshayani in the branches, Parvati in the leaves, Gauri in the flowers. This is the reason why Bholenath is very fond of Bel leaves.

Rules for offering Belpatra
1. Always offer Belpatra to Lord Shiva only while touching the reverse side of the Belpatra i.e. the smooth surface.
2. Offer Belpatra with the help of ring finger, thumb and middle finger and offer it to Shiva only after holding the middle leaf.
3. Never offer only Bilva leaves to Lord Shiva, definitely offer a stream of water along with Bel leaves.
4. Offer only three leaves of Belpatra to Lord Shiva.
5. Take care that the leaves of Belpatra are not torn.
6. Breaking Bel leaves is prohibited on some dates.
7. Bel leaves should not be broken on Chaturthi, Ashtami, Navami, Chaturdashi and Amavasya, during Sankranti and on Mondays.
8. Belpatra is never impure. Belpatra that has already been offered can also be washed again and offered.

Importance of Bel leaves in worship of Lord Shiva
Bel Patra with its triangular shape represents the three eyes of Lord Shiva. Apart from this, it represents Trishul, the weapon of God. Bel leaves provide coolness. It is also believed that devotees who worship with Belpatra on Sawan get spiritual power. Worshiping Shivling under the Bel tree leads to salvation. Lord Shiva is very pleased by offering Bel leaves to Lord Shiva. Knowledge is attained by lighting a lamp under the Bilva tree. Providing food to the poor under the Bilva tree strengthens the economic condition.
