B. Purnima date starts – 11th August morning at 10.38 am
C. Purnima date ends – 12th August till 7.05 am
D. Raksha Bandhan Bhadra End Time – At 08:54 PM
E. Raksha Bandhan Bhadra Poonch – From 05.17 pm to 06.18 pm on 11th August
That's why it is very auspicious to celebrate Rakshabandhan on 11th not 12th August.
According to the rules mentioned in the scriptures for Rakshabandhan, the festival of Rakhi should be celebrated on the day of Sawan i.e. Shravan Purnima by sacrificing the time of Bhadra. Now this time Sawan Purnima is starting on 11th August at 10.38 am. In such a situation, if it is very important, if you want, you can get the Raksha Sutra tied between 5:17 pm to 6.18 pm at the time of Bhadra Puchh during Pradosh period on 11th August. Or after Bhadra is over, Rakhi can be tied between 8:54 pm to 9:49 pm. But traditionally Rakhi is not tied after sunset. For these reasons, it is better to celebrate Rakhi on 12th August than to tie Rakhi on 11th July.
Rakshabandhan on 12th August is therefore more auspicious
There is a rule in Hinduism that the date in which the sunrise occurs, the value of the same date is considered for the whole day, that is, the same date is considered. Since the full moon date is 7:6 am on 12th August, the full moon date will remain the same on this day because the full moon date will prevail at the time of sunrise. There will be no shadow of Bhadra on this day. Therefore, celebrating the festival of Rakshabandhan on 12th August will be auspicious in every respect.
Why is Rakhi not tied in Bhadra?
Rakhi should not be tied on Rakshabandhan in Bhadrakal. There is also a legend behind it. It is said that the sister of Lankapati Ravana had tied Rakhi on his wrist in Bhadrakaal itself and it was destroyed within a year. It is said that Bhadra was the sister of Shanidev. Bhadra had received this curse from Brahma ji that whoever does auspicious or auspicious work in Bhadra, its result will be inauspicious.
